Windrush Icons

We brought together London’s iconic transport network and Europe’s largest outdoor group for Black women and girls to celebrate the opening of TfL’s new Windrush line, which commemorates the Windrush Generation.

Our brief was to create an impactful real-world moment that immersed the ancestry of the generation in their history and culture — with the new Windrush Overground line providing both the backdrop and the guiding thread.

Over 60 women and girls attended.

This event is a perfect example of how we bring together brands, third-sector organisations, communities, and technology to build new networks of like-minded people who share the same values — ultimately raising awareness of and access to the Windrush Overground line and its cultural significance.

We partnered with the UK’s leading walking app, Go Jauntly, to curate a bespoke walk for the crew, and then teamed up with the Black Cultural Archives, who hosted an intimate talk and discussion on the legacy and impact of the community.
